Holiday Overview
The luxurious, 4-star superior Athena Royal Beach Hotel is firm favourite with First for Bridge guests. Ideally located in beautiful gardens overlooking the ocean, a flat 30-minute coastal walk takes you right into Paphos harbour. As well as immersing yourself in our daily bridge sessions, we include five bowls sessions, bridge seminars and twice weekly dancing lessons. Guests can also enjoy the excellent spa and wellness facilities the hotel has to offer, including indoor and outdoor pools, steam and sauna.
If you can tear yourself away from all the activities on offer at the hotel, this delightful island has many places to explore. Head up the Troodos Mountains for breathtaking scenery, culture and an insight to the island’s heritage. View Aphrodite’s Rock or take a step back in time with a visit to the walled and divided capital of Nicosia. Paphos itself has much to offer as a cultural UNESCO World Heritage Site, hosting the most amazing collection of Roman mosaics and the Tombs of the Kings.

With our flight-inclusive package, today you will board your flight to Paphos Airport. From here, you will be transferred to the Athena Royal Beach Hotel.
If you have booked our join direct package, meet us at Paphos Airport and transfer to the Athena Royal Beach Hotel.

Our bridge programmes will vary according to the length of your break, and, in addition to playing bridge, we try to include interesting bridge seminars, hosted by your EBU-qualified director.
Your duplicate bridge will be available every evening between 7:45pm and 11:15pm. We endeavour to vary these evening sessions, balancing between teams and pairs and featuring at least one Swiss event during a two-week break.
Bridge will also be offered some afternoons between 2:30pm and 4:45pm. These sessions are normally given over to open pairs/teams.
Masterpoints are awarded on evening bridge sessions, and on day sessions with over 5 tables.
During your bridge holiday, nothing is obligatory, and you can play in as many or as few bridge sessions as you wish. We don’t forget you are on holiday and our bridge programmes also allow time to relax, giving the opportunity for you to explore the surrounding area.
On this holiday, we also include three bowls sessions. Twice weekly dance lessons are available with the hotel's in-house dance instructors.

Athena Royal Beach Hotel
With its own sandy beach and beautiful grounds, the adult-only Athena Royal Beach Hotel is more intimate that the neighbouring hotels and is a firm favourite with our guests. Located just a 30-minute walk from Paphos harbour, it boasts five restaurants, an indoor swimming pool, and three outdoor pools equipped with sun loungers. The beautiful guest rooms overlook colourful, private gardens, and sea-view rooms are also on offer. Truly unwind in the excellent Elixir Spa, complete with a sauna and steam room, or enjoy fantastic recreational activities including tennis, table tennis, bowls and billiards.
