We thoughtfully select the best hotels in fantastic destinations, ensuring that you enjoy a relaxing and memorable stay…
Our first experience working together as bridge host and director was a fantastic introduction to First for Bridge holidays. We had a wonderful week in Croatia, and the fish lunch on board our local boat excursion was particularly memorable due to the vision of our lovely septuagenarian ladies sipping wine from pint pots, as this was the only size of glass available. Needless to say, the bridge was entertaining that evening! Our first bridge holiday was great fun; we met some wonderful people, who have subsequently become regular guests and now friends.
So you’ve decided on a First for Bridge holiday, and you’ve pored over the brochure and picked your ideal destination. After weeks of anticipation, you arrive at the hotel to be greeted by a lovely, friendly director and hosts and, as you’ve come on your own, you have just been introduced to a prospective new partner. This must be what a blind date feels like!
First for Bridge run a range of different bridge holidays, from holidays for beginners to English Bridge Union overseas congresses where the bridge is more serious but played in friendly setting. This is the story of the most recent EBU overseas congress, held near Venice in October 2023.
